REFLECTIONS ON A VISIT TO THIS
SITE
In October
2008, cousin Judith Ingram Tebbs of Portland, Oregon, visited this place, a site which holds such significance
to Robinson and Marshall "descendants" of the Hoveys. Reflecting on the occasion a few months later, she
writes,
"Experiencing that
amazing, forlorn Robinson place
is quite a
haunting memory I treasure.
Harvesting chestnuts
in their abandoned orchard,
walking under those
giant old trees in their yard,
peeking at what
remains of a massive dilapidated barn,
seeing the beautiful
hidden chapel
with the stained-glass
window
will be with me
for a long time."
